time for a new post

i have done more posts this month than ever before. however, it does not feel like it so i am trying out another one. i got a letter from james yesterday. it made me very happy. especially when he wrote a message to bruce. you see, on the last tape i sent to james bruce commented on how james was a big piece of eye candy. james replied by saying, "tell bruce he is my kind of guy and i'll send him a hot photo one of these days." i love him.

okay. moving on. so all of the kiddies were here yesterday and my dear, dear (and crazy) niece allison was looking at the calendar. she ran into the living room and said, "daddy! daddy! guess what? on july 25 we're getting a new moon!" she was quite panicked because she thought that meant that the old moon was going away and there would be a completely different moon there. My other, intelligent niece, marissa (who is NINE), clarified what a new moon was. she actually knew and understood what a new moon was. without anyone telling her. i swear, every time i am around her i just feel dumber and dumber.

i really have nothing more to say on this matter. maybe i will just leave you with a picture of this monkey because he is obviously feeling the way i do about my american heritage lab right now.

missionaries!

okay. so this is something many of you have already heard but i am posting about it anyway. on monday i got a tape from loveless. it was very good. i quite liked it. (loveless, if you are reading this... thank you.) some definite highlights (remember that childrens magazine?) were when he said that he really liked vampires. obviously he is insane. which works out because i obviously am as well. He also likes soccer. this is a big plus. i want to start playing again. i almost went over to westridge today to kick the ball around alone but didn't have time. dang it. anyway, he comes home on april 6. this is ridiculously soon. i am kind of scared for my life, as alec would say. but that is good. so i sent him a reply tape. it was interesting. maybe. i don't really know. i did tell him that i have not kissed anyone since before i was 16. I AM AN IDIOT! oh well. maybe he likes dumb girls who normal boys run away from.

so... moving on. i also got another letter from mike. it was NINE pages long. that is pretty substantial for him. can i just say that i find it kind of annoying that he uses scriptures and missionary lingo to flirt? he said, in response to my inquiry as to why he decided to tell me all of the things he did now, that as the scriptures say, he was putting milk before the meat. all of his stuff up to now has been "milky" now he thought it was time to include some meat. i think that this may do with my telling him that his first tape was too serious and blah. He also said that he wanted to let me know that he is a "potential investigator." I was laughing so hard i had to put the letter down and walk away. he says--and i quote--"to us, as missionaries, this means that a person has shown great interest in the church but has not yet committed to do anything." what the heck? he has shown great interest in me? when? i guess the tape kind of counts. where did he learn that that is how you woo someone? it was all very cute and whatnot... it was just so mike.

one thing that was actually quite good was that he said he liked my idea about kissing in the rain. (if you recall, his comp asked me about dream kisses.) he said about the whole paintball kissing thing (10 things i hate aobut you) , "yeah, that would be awesome. although, i like being outside with rain. that would be cool. i'll pray for rain in march." i assume he means next march when he gets home. okay. that is pretty cute. once more, he said things you just don't picture mike saying. but then, i suppose it is easier when you are miles and a year away from any kind of consequence. and he was still really serious in parts. and he was kind of offended because i called him anal in the tape i sent him.

OH! this is the last thing. i promise to stop obsessing about boys. so you guys know about the song i sent him, right? norah jones. all about how i was waiting for him to come home and turn me on. HA! i knew he would react to that. he asked how serious i was about that whole message. i think it is fitting to tell him what he told me... "you know, take it for what it means." yes, it is a little harsh... but i think he can deal with it.

moving right along... i saw cinderella at scera with my nieces. they loved it. i loved it. i think i want to take some kiddies to go dog go the musical right after finals. they would like it... and i am sure i will as well. it IS dr. suess. what is there not to like? and so... i will end with this sentiment... bite the big one , junior.

New York Doll

Okay. I don't really have a good story. Instead I will talk about a few films I have seen recently. At the International Cinema. One of them was called The Cup. It is about Tibetan monks in India who love soccer. The whole movie is them trying to get a satellite dish on their monastery so they can watch the 1998 world cup. It was hilarious. I recommend it. It was all in Hindi and Tibetan. Delight.

The other movie I saw is called New York Doll. It was AWESOME! I am going to buy it. It is a documentary about Arthur "Killer" Kane, the bassist for the proto-punk group The New York Dolls. He is the blond-ish guy who looks startlingly like a woman. He was an alcoholic and addicted to drugs and then joined the LDS church. The film followed him around while he was getting ready for a reunion concert with the living members of the Dolls. Honestly, it was the best documentary I have ever seen. A certain highlight was when he described his conversion as similar to an acid trip. Obviously, this movie gets big thumbs up. I highly recommend it. It is still playing tonight and tomorrow. GO AND SEE IT!

What else to share? Today is Caitlin's wedding shower. I got her some good stuff. That is all the detail I can go into online. I don't know who is going to read this! If you would like more info... talk to me. Perhaps I will share. I also got some pictures today that I am considering sending to Mike. I don't know which one to send. Oh well. Maybe I will send one to Loveless. Who, by the way, has a first name. It is Stephen. Nifty. I believe I will continue to call him Loveless. That is all I will tell today. Have an awesome weekend. I certainly will.

err... bite me. yes, that's a good one.

Here is the exciting news of the week... I caught my mouse yesterday! She has been running about for the last 2.5 weeks. I spent 5 hours, yes 5 HOURS last Friday trying to catch her. Obviously I did not. Until yesterday, that is, when Bruce woke me up and said, "Trisha! I found your mouse! Come here!" Yes, it was in his room. Lilly(mouse) had climbed up on his dresser and was in the cage with all of Bruce's gerbils. She was just running on the wheel like it was nothing special. She is now in a glass aquarium with a lid and books on top of it to hold her in. She is on death row. I see no hope for her. I am taking her to my neighbors house at me earliest convenience and feeding her to their pet constrictor. I imagine it will look something like this picture. I will not watch, though. I know I am mean... but I just can't take care of her. She is just too smart and spastic for me.
